Woody Allen Heading to Paris for Next Project

By
June 26, 2009

Premiere of Whatever Works in ParisThe amazingly prolific Woody Allen will follow up his Untitled London Project with a romantic drama set in Paris, reports Screen Daily.  The pub has confirmed the news with the film’s Spanish co-producers Mediapro.

Mediapro, pleased with the success of their collaboration on “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” inked a three picture deal with Allen near the beginning of last year.  Gravier, the production banner run by Allen’s sister Letty Aronson, will produce all three.

The first of the three films is the aformentioned Untitled London Project, which is set to begin production later this year with Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas attached.

“We will follow the London project with a romantic film set in Paris, which will shoot in 2010,” Javier Mendez, a producer at Mediapro confirmed to ScreenDaily. “Woody Allen is writing the script, but we’ve not yet received it from him and the cast and title are yet to be confirmed.”

Allen has finally decided to revisit the idea of shooting in Paris, something he considered in 2006, but instead decided to focus on other projects.
