Apparently Disney is feeling pretty confident about its sci-fi tentpole release, “Tron Legacy.”  The modern update of the 1982 hacker classic that starred Jeff Bridges isn’t due out until December, but the studio is already making big strides towards a sequel.

Heat Vision reports that Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, writers and executive producers on “Lost,” have already begun writing the script with a possible eye on working it into a trilogy.

Details are scarce this early in the process but speculation abounds.  Though since no deals have yet been reached with “Tron Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski or any cast members about a possible return for another “Tron” film, it would be wise not to put too much stock into casting or story rumors at this point.

But one thing is for certain; Hollywood’s relentless search for cash cow franchises akin to “James Bond” or “Harry Potter,” regardless of artistic integrity, hasn’t shown any signs of waning.
