After 13 years of marriage Sean Penn and Robin Wright are separating citing irreconcilable differences, the Associate Press reported Thursday.
According to Marin County Superior Court papers, Penn filed for divorce from his wife in San Rafael, Calififornia, and has petitioned for joint custody of their two children Dylan Francis (18) and Hopper Jack (15).
Penn is a double Academy Award winner for his roles in Clint Eastwood’s “Mystic River,” and Gus Van Sant’s “Milk.” He also directed 2007’s acclaimed, “Into the Wild” starring Emile Hirsch.
Wright is best know for her performances in 1987’s, “The Princess Bride” and as Jenny in 1994’s, “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks. She also appears in the 2009 film, “State of Play,” starring Russell Crowe.
