Billionaire entrepreneur, Richard Branson, who recently launched the Virgin Produced banner with Relativity Media, is talks to acquire “Columbus,” a “300”-style film about Italian explorer Christopher Colubmus written by T.S. Nowlin to be directed by McG (“Terminator Salvation”).

Deadline reports that negotiations began soon after the script went out last week and that McG, who’s currently directing the 20th Century Fox comedy “This Means War” with Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, will produce.
