Set to begin filming in coming weeks, “Young Adult,” the flick that reunites the duo behind the Oscar-winning “Juno” (Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody) has added a couple of prominent thesps to its ranks.
Patton Oswalt will join Charlize Theron in the film (which examines the experiences of a ghostwriter of young adult novels who returns to her hometown to rekindle lost friendships only to find that things have changed). 24 Frames also reports that Patrick Wilson is currently in talks to join the cast.
Oswalt, known predominantly as a stand-up comic and supporting comedic actor shocked Sundance audiences last year with his stark, disturbing turn as a crazed sports nut in “Big Fan.” Wilson has also shown considerable acting chops playing the hilariously sleezy villain in Joe Carnahan’s remake of “The A-Team,” and garnerning both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his portrayal of a sexually confused Mormon Republican in Mike Nichols’ 2003 HBO mini-series “Angels in America.”
Along with Reitman and Cody, producers Mason Novick, Mandate Pictures and Mr. Mudd are all back on board hoping to recreate that $227 million “Juno” magic.
