“MacGruber,” the popular “Saturday Night Live” parody of the 1980s Richard Dean Anderson TV action series “MacGyver,” has just added Ryan Phillippe and Val Kilmer to the cast, says Reuters.

The two stars will join Will Forte and Kristen Wiig in the Paramount and Relativity Media production.

Jorma Taccone, the man behind the character and the skits, will direct the film.

As usual, SNL producer and creator Lorne Michaels will produce.

Forte, Taccone and John Solomon penned script, which will feature MacGruber retired and living as a monk in Ecuador, until he’s enlisted to fight the evil Cunth, who has a nuclear warhead; the mission is personal because Cunth is responsible for the death of MacGruber’s bride.

At this point, it looks like “MacGruber” will make it to the big screen before a “MacGyver” movie, which is currently in development at New Line.
