M. Night Shyamalan’s mystical “The Last Airbender,” about characters who can manipulate the elements, led all other contenders Saturday with five Razzie awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.
“Airbender” also took home the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor (Jackson Rathbone, who was also nominated for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) and a special award, Worst Eye-gouging mMisuse of 3-D.
The Razzies (The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation), annually awarded the night before the Academy Awards, recognize the Berry Worst Achievements in Film.
“Sex and the City 2” was right behind the Shyamalan disaster with three Razzies, including Worst Actress (shared by co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon), Worst Screen Couple or Ensemble for its entire cast, and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.
Other winners included Ashton Kutcher, Worst Actor for “Killers” and “Valentine’s Day” and Jessica Alba, Worst Supporting Actress for “The Killer Inside Me,” “Little Fockers,” “Machete” and “Valentine’s Day.”
