Jason Lee, Michelle Trachtenberg Join ‘A Couple of Dicks’

Jason Lee Hosts Whistling Past The Graveyard Art OpeningKevin Smith, director of “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy,” and most recently, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” is filling out the cast of his upcoming detective comedy, “A Couple of Dicks.”

Jason Lee and Michelle Trachtenberg have been confirmed by Variety as the latest additions to the Warner Bros. project which is also starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan.

Marc Platt will produce along with Polly Johnsen and Michael Tadross.

Robb and Marc Cullen penned the screenplay, which centers on a pair of “dicks” who “track down a stolen baseball card, rescue a Mexican beauty and must deal with gangsters and laundered drug money.”

Trachtenberg is set to play the daughter of Willis’ character, and Lee will assume the role of her stepfather.

Warner snatched up the project from turnaround last year from Gold Circle, where it had been in development with Robin Williams and James Gandolfini in the leads.

Seann William Scott and Adam Brody have also been confirmed to star.

Lee’s latest is to be, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel” while Trachtenberg was last seen in the Zac Efron, Matthew Perry starrer, “17 Again.”
