Warner Bros. apparently has a lot of confidence in their latest superhero vehicle, “Green Lantern,” directed by Martin Campbell. Even though the film, currently shooting in New Orleans and starring Ryan Reynolds, is a year away from release the studio has already begun development on a sequel.
Heatvision reports that Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, the trio that worked on the screenplay for “Green Lantern” have been hired to pen the sequel, as well as a treatment for an upcoming screen version of “The Flash.”
The specifics of the deal state that they would then proceed to write one of the two scripts, either “Green Lantern 2″ or “The Flash.” It hasn’t yet been determined which.
“The Flash” movie will reportedly feature the Barry Allen incarnation of the character created in 1956.
