Carla Gugino, who starred as Silk Spectre in Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen,” has joined the cast of the director’s upcoming project, “Sucker Punch,” reports THR.
“Punch” is Warner Bros’ and Legendary Pictures’ 1950s action fantasy that centers on a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her diabolical stepfather who plans to have her lobotomized. She and her friends enter an alternate reality where they devise a plan for her escape.
Gugino joins Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, and Abbie Cornish who will bring to life the script penned by Snyder. Snyder will also produce through his Cruel & Unusual Films along with his wife, Deborah.
The actors are currently readying for production in Vancouver by undergoing fight training.
Gugino will next appear in the indie sports drama “Our Lady of Victory.”
