Dany Akroyd recently hinted that Sony Pictures’ forthcoming reboot of the “Ghostbusters” franchise may be getting underway sooner than expected.
Akroyd told the Los Angeles Times that they, “could be in production by winter.”
In addition to Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver are also set to reprise their roles.
“Year One” writers, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are on script duty and reports have them chronicling a next generation of Ghostbusters that take the baton from the original, aging members.
Aykroyd also expressed interest in Ivan Reitman returning as director but is doubtful.
