It has been some time since any news has been reported on Robin Hardy’s “Cowboys for Christ,” his long awaited companion piece to his beloved 1973 “The Wicker Man.” Thanks to a tip from one of Shock Till You Drop‘s sources, it looks like this highly anticipated project may already be underway.
It was widely reported in early 2008 that “Cowboys” had lost its funding just before shooting was to get underway in Scotland with Christopher Lee and Joan Collins anchoring the cast. But apparently, things may be back on track.
According to STYD, prodcution may, in fact, already be underway with sources telling that pub that a bit of shooting has already taken place in Texas and that Hardy is currently in production in Scotland.
According to often dubious information of IMDB, the film still stars Lee, as Sir Lachlan Morrison, as well as Ed Speleers (Eragon), Susie Amy (Lesbian Vampire Killers), Henry Garrett, Keith Warwick and Morgan James.
James and Speleers will play Texas Christians on a mission to spread the Christian Gospel throughout Scotland, but things turn sour when hosted by Morrison.
